The taxi cab driver was headed northbound on Steam Mill Road in his 2011 Ford Crown Victoria when the accident occurred. Reynolds was following behind the Muscogee county school bus, however, when the bus came to a stop with its lights flashing, Reynolds rear ended the bus.

According the Reynolds, his collision with the bus was due to the rainy weather conditions that day as he described the roads as being wet and slippery, therefore causing his vehicles to slip and hit the bus. Thankfully, none of kids on board were reported to be injured.

Local law enforcement were immediately notified and transportation supervisors immediately dispatched another bus to continue to transport the kids. Reynolds was held in Muscogee county jail for driving under the influence of narcotics. As a result of the accident, Reynolds was charged with one count of each; DUI, driving too fast for conditions, following too close, and failure to wear a safety belt.
