DON’T FALL PREY TO A LAWYER THAT URGES A RUSHED DECISION

By Ben Sessions on May 20th, 2016 in Uncategorized

PICKING A LAWYER SHOULD NOT BE A RUSHED DECISION. DON’T FALL PREY TO A LAWYER THAT URGES A RUSHED DECISION.

Unfortunately, I speak with a lot people that are in the worst situation that they have ever confronted in their life. The varieties of their particular circumstances vary widely – they may have been arrested for a DUI charge, others are being investigated by the, others have been involved an accident resulting in the death or serious injury of another person. The particular source of their worry may differ, but the one thing that these people universally want is the same: they want a solution in a hurry. As a result of this very rational emotion, clients fall prey to a lawyer that urge a rushed decision.

HIRING A LAWYER FOR A SERIOUS CRIMINAL CHARGE IS NOT A QUICK FIX.

Yes, having a lawyer early on in your case can be tremendously helpful for some clients. However, in most serious criminal cases, simply hiring a lawyer does not provide quick results.

THERE ARE TIME-SENSITIVE ITEMS THAT CAN AND SHOULD BE WORKED ON AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

However, making the decision to hire a lawyer should not be used as the “selling point” to get these things done.

So, what do you do if certain things need to be started, but a criminal defense lawyer tells you that you need to make a hiring decision in order to start those things?

  • 1. Before very cautious about these types of lawyers.
  • 2. Inquire of the lawyer if they will help you undertake these efforts prior to a retainer decision being made by you. If the lawyer will not help you (for a fee) undertake these efforts, be careful.

If you or a loved one have been charged with a crime or are in need of legal assistance as it pertains to a serious criminal charge, take the time to contact The Sessions Law Firm today for a free consultation. You will speak with one of experience criminal defense attorneys who can help you.
