OUR INJURY LAWYERS CAN HELP IF YOU HAVE BEEN HURT IN AN ACCIDENT ON I-20.

By Ben Sessions on July 11th, 2017 in Uncategorized

Interstate 20 is one of Georgia’s largest interstates. It spreads east to west, stretching from the Alabama state line near Tallapoosa, Georgia to the South Carolina state line near Augusta, Georgia. I-20 passes through sixteen different Georgia counties, including major ones such as Cobb, Fulton, DeKalb, and Rockdale. It also passes through many major Georgia cities including Douglasville, Conyers, and Madison. The entire interstate was finally completed in 1977. Certain sections of I-20 are home to some of the worst rush hour spots in the Atlanta area, including the intersection of I-20 and I-285. It is an extremely popular interstate that is used by those traveling into Atlanta from other suburban areas or travelers just passing through. The Sessions Law Firm can help if you have been hurt in an accident on I-20.

Various types of vehicles traverse interstates like I-20. Cars, trucks, SUVs, tractor trailers, and motorcyclist are a few of the different kinds of motorized vehicles you may encounter when traveling. Driving on the road with motorcyclists can be tricky since they are much smaller and harder to see. As a motorcyclist, you should also be aware of the other types of vehicles around you and what they are doing. This past June, an accident on I-20 in Cobb county involving a motorcyclist resulted in the motorcyclist’s death occurred. The driver of the motorcycle was going faster than the designated speed limit and after encountering traffic much slower he was going, he was unable to slow down in time and lost control of his bike, causing him to be struck multiple times by different vehicles. The driver of the motorcycle was killed and no other injuries were reported.

Unlike a tractor trailer or even a car, motorcycles are much smaller and more difficult to see in blind spots and other areas surrounding your vehicle. Taking extra precaution when driving around a motorcyclist is essential to a safe commute. If you are a motorcyclist yourself, remember to abide by the same speed limits and traffic regulations that you would if you were driving a car. As a motorcyclist, you have limited physical protection in the event of a collision with another vehicle or object. Driving your motorcycle with care and caution can prevent such tragic accidents mentioned above, and just like those who drive motorcycles, it is also important for those driving around motorcycles to proceed with caution and alertness as well.
