TRACTOR TRAILER CRASH IN HENRY COUNTY, GA INJURIES SEVERAL AND KILLS TEEN

Saturday, August 20, 2016, there an absolutely horrible crash involving a tractor trailer on I-75 in Henry County at Highway 20/81 (exit 218). Summer Lee, a senior at Locust Grove High School, lost her life in this tragic crash. Nine vehicles were involved int the crash. Four injured people were injured in the accident and transported to Atlanta Medical Center for care. All lanes of I-75 were closed for several hours, and an overturned tractor-trailer caught fire.
WHAT CAUSED THE FATAL TRACTOR TRAILER ACCIDENT IN HENRY COUNTY, GA, THAT CLAIMED THE LIFE OF SUMMER LEE?
It appears that the crash that resulted in the death of Summer Lee was caused by a tractor trailer operator that was following too closely, and as a result of following too closely, set into motion this horrible chain of events. However, there is a somewhat subtle detail that could tell the rest of the story regarding the cause of this crash. The driver of the commercial vehicle was also charged with driving in violation of the hours of operation limitation. The driver of the commercial vehicle, Daniel Crane of Jemez Springs, N.M., was charged with second-degree (misdemeanor) vehicular homicide, following too closely and commercial vehicle hours of service violations. It does not appear at this time that alcohol or drugs were a factor in the cause of the accident. The crash was working by the Henry County Police Department.
