If you’re facing a DUI charge that involves an accident, I would strongly implore you to speak with a lawyer who actually understands how to defend a DUI, particularly if the case involves a person that was seriously injured or killed in the accident. Before you make any decisions with regard to the defense in the case, you must make a very thoughtful decision about the type of representation that you’ll have for the case. What I’m seeing really frequently is that lawyers are making sort of haphazard decisions with regard to these cases and needlessly exposing their clients to very, very serious penalties, down the road, as a result of sort of short-sighted decisions.
Do not make the mistake of assuming you won’t get to jail in a DUI case that involves an accident because you do not have any prior history.
As you make a decision with regard to any sort of DUI charge that involves an accident and possible injuries to another person. Please take that charge very, very, seriously, and understand that if you sort of haphazardly extend that case out, you could very well be asking the State who indicts the case as a serious injury by motor vehicle charge, that might not have otherwise existed.
If you have any questions with regard to a DUI accident case, please feel free to call me. My name is Ben Sessions and my office number is 470-225-7710. Again, 470-225-7710, thank you.
